@Vesa this is a fantastic photo... I had a cat like this once... after he got into the cat nap would eat anything made of paper..

I call this one WAY TO CLOSE MAN... BACK OFF!

I have been having fun with my water coulors and inks... these images are the result of that fun. I hope you all enjoy.

I call these the mystics of the faces of Ice & Stone

Hi all... I am back on line.. I have been busy teaching and making new work. I will try to post a few mask in progress... cheers and Happy New year to all...

I am sorry, I have not been on here more. I have been busy in the studio... I will post some new photos soon... cheers Douglas R. Witt

up here things decay very slowly and the sun does amazing things to the growing plants and dead animals...

@Vesa I like this... its very primal... I love the colour and the idea of documenting decay... its a good idea... I enjoy watching change.

@sophiepasqualetti Wonderful Wonderful... Since i was a young man, i have long dreamed to see Venice... being a classically trained mask maker i have never felt i have gotten it right without the sounds and smells Venice dancing around inside my head... thank you for your insight off the beaten path ;) bravo

@Vesa its always good to meet fellow Canuk artist. i have been enjoying your work. do you make them by hand or are you using a mathmatic program so some sort?

@CerisKushinda i did build the 'inukshuk' part of my project is to learn about the land and its local myths. this was the first of many natural sculptures i will make along with my masks later on i will take the mask on to the land and build them into the natural landscapes of this primal land.

I am thinking I will name all the masks in the collection after the local types of stone.

here is my first mask in my new collection called the faces of Ice & Stone.
